Sewing · Sewing for Miss M

Celebrating

This year, Easter was a bit of a surprise.

2 brand-new baby nephews were welcome into this world: Baby T was born just two-days before Good Friday and Baby A was born on Easter Sunday!

We were all soooo happy!

Of course, Miss M was the happiest of us all: she was expecting to take care of the babies as soon as they were born 😉

So, hence the celebrating sewing.

We’ve agreed that Miss M (and G, of course) would help me make a soft doll for each baby.

They were both delighted!

And so, I’ve been looking for the right pattern and fabric. It needed to be simple enough so that kids could be involved and have fun.

Luckily, the latest Ottobre magazine had exactly what I was looking for.

An extremely cute ready printed Owl panel from Lillestoff.

When it arrived (a couple of days later) they help me with the cutting (tiny scissors with close supervision), sewing and filling.

Each panel had 6 owls, so each kid/baby will get 1 owl to cuddle (even the older brother, but probably I should refrain myself from saying this here…)

I embroidered each baby name in the tag at the back of the owl and close the opening.
Miss M did the final modelling. She was clearly motivated to share her accomplishments …

(G, after all the hard work, was too busy eating cereals. This is a boy who knows his priorities, lol).

Now, the owls are ready to go to their new homes.

Welcome to the world, Baby T and Baby A. We love you sooooo much!!

I just love happy endings 😉

Note: Miss M is wearing a cute jumper (Callie from Children’s Corner) made using a print from the Meadow line (Children at Play Collection from Sarah Jane).

  1. These are so cute! What a lovely present for your new babies. I’ve just ‘found’ Lillestoff fabric 🙂

And you’ve been enabling me with patterns too – I ordered a CC pattern last week…..

    1. Thank you, Peta!
Not quite sure about the quality of their work (lots of surveillance), but they sure don’t lack motivation!

  2. I’ve been eyeing these! Now I need to hide my bank card. So adorable. And, your kids look like they are having so much fun! Congrats on your blog…it is beautiful!

    1. Thank you MC!
      Mine is already hidden 🙂
Currently I am only allowing myself, purchases that can’t be postponed (and are truly needed. I need to stop feeding my growing stash). But these were birth gifts for my brother/sister babies so truly essential… (I know, I know quite a lame excuse, but it convinced me …)
I’m hoping to have some time to update the “blog look” and add some inspirational blogs. Yours will definitely be in it. Love it (but you already knew it, right!)
