It’s the last day of Coffee and Thread blog tour 2017 started yesterday and I couldn’t be more happy to be part of it. I’m a huge fan of Olga’s patterns so when Emi invited me to join the tour, I was thrilled by the opportunity 😉
My initial plan was to sew matching outfits for my younger kids – a boy and a girl, but to be honest, there’s quite a bit going on in my life currently and I couldn’t stick to my plans – I just couldn’t find the time for sourcing coordinating fabrics for both and my boy wasn’t thrilled with the perspective of matching his younger sister.
Well, plan B it was …
My girl was quite excited to pick fabrics and patterns for the tour (I may have interfere a bit in the pattern selection, but that’s just because I couldn’t miss the opportunity to sew her another dress …).
She did well with the fabric selection (I think she was trying to pleased me), and picked the Ania Tunic and the Ila Dress patterns from the wonderful range of Coffee & Thread Patterns – both patterns were new to me and, as expected, were a pleasure to sew.
I started by the Illa dress as I was eager to give it a try – I have a crush for hidden pockets and the design of this dress is really sweet. I made the fully lined version and still it was such an easy sew.
I love piping and this dress is perfect for adding it, but my girl had a different idea (don’t they always?). She wished to keep it simple so we only added piping to the front panels. It still looks cute, though.
The picture above shows my initial styling of this dress, but she was thinking of a more cooler styling: Funky necklace and denim jacket …
As we all know, we can’t win them all, so another photo session was scheduled (this time the light wasn’t that good) but she was so much happier 🙂
This denim jacket is a favorite in her closet and she wears it with just about everything, and it was a great match to the Ila ❤
I actually love the giraffe necklace ❤ She’s still my baby, right?
Further to the Illa dress, we had a blouse planned as well.
She had picked a Liberty print that has been on my stash for ages (probably it was one of my first Liberty purchases on a eBay auction) – it’s called Claire Aude and features shades of yellow and gold. It’s perfect for a summer blouse and I knew it would be so beautiful as an Ania Tunic (which, I shortened a bit into a blouse).
Again, the fit was spot on for my girl – I made size 9 for both patterns – and she couldn’t be happier with this new addition to her summer wardrobe. If you’re looking for a timeless blouse pattern, you should give the Ania a closer look. We love it ❤
Her new Ania tunic turned blouse has enough flare and it’s so light – perfect for warmer weather.
It’s been a (good) challenge to sew according to her sense style. She favors cooler styles than I do, but overall I think we are getting along quite nicely!
Plus, Olga’s patterns made it so easy – great instructions and beautiful designs for all ages (and styles) 😉
Olga has been offering 20% off her patterns with the code “Coffeeandthreadtour” (ending today) and there is also an awesome giveaway going on (click bellow if you haven’t done it yet – the prizes are amazing).
Lastly, don’t forget to check the lineup – there’s so much inspiration from these super talented ladies . I’m sure you don’t want to miss it! 😊

These are both so lovely! I love the fabric/piping pairing and the breezy blouse!
Thank you so much, Ana Sofia for being on the tour! I love both makes so much! The piping addition is such a subtle but beautiful detail! And the Ania tunic is perfect in that Liberty fabric! So so pretty! You daughter styled it perfectly!
Oh such a lovely tunic! And your version of the Ila dress is so simple and fantastic, it makes me want to sew another one!
Love your makes! The Ila is so delicate with the piping and the Ania looks as if it was made for that fabric.
Just perfect.
Beautifully done, they suit her so well. x
Love the combination of the stripes and the floral piping on your Ila dress!
Your Ila Dress is so pretty — and the Ania!!! It looks gorgeous in that fabric. I love them both!
Love both outfits so much! The beautiful simplicity of the Ila, with some added cool with the denim jacket. And the Ania with its perfect fabric match.
Me gustan mucho los dos modelos que has elegido. Tu hija se ve preciosa y muy mayor.
